Education Law: Vendor Relations

The firm represents clients in vendor relations, advising school districts on commercial agreements with outside vendors and public and private agencies, including construction agreements, building projects, and real estate transactions. Our attorneys have advised our clients with regard to transportation, food service, purchasing and bidding issues, including drafting, reviewing and revising contracts. Our firm has also successfully defended cases challenging public agency bidding procedures.

The firm has represented clients in construction arbitration before the American Arbitration Association, along with litigation before the courts on various issues involving the contractual relationships between agencies and their vendors. In a case that exemplified our innovative approach to the law, when a labor dispute between a private bus company and a labor union resulted in a strike that deprived over 5,000 students of school transportation, the firm went to court and obtained injunctive relief against the company and the union, forcing a settlement of the strike and the restoration of transportation.
