Roseann G. Padula

Roseann G. Padula is a member of the firm and has 15 years of experience representing the interests of Connecticut school districts in a number of areas, including board governance, policy, labor relations, employment, educational services, student issues, vendor relations, cooperative arrangements, and legal compliance. She also represents other municipal employers and small private businesses in the areas of labor and employment law and workplace issues. Her clients rely on her for day-to-day advice, staff training and preparation of contracts and other legal documents. She has provided services in connection with union organizing drives, union representation elections, unfair labor practice charges, collective bargaining, contract administration, restrictive covenants, confidentiality agreements, employment separations, reduction and reorganization of staff, wage and hour audits, workers' compensation and unemployment insurance claims, employee discipline, civil rights, employment discrimination claims, Freedom of Information issues and other employer concerns.

Before practicing as an attorney, Attorney Padula held management positions in private industry directing human resource and marketing operations, and performing corporate strategy and research. Her works have been published in the Connecticut Law Review and various trade journals and newsletters, and she has contributed to a variety of legal publications. Attorney Padula has been a guest on radio talk shows, and has presented before numerous business and education groups such as the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE), Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents (CAPSS), American Association of School Personnel Administrators (AASPA), Connecticut Public Employer Labor Relations Association (CONNPELRA), Connecticut Bar Association (CBA), Housatonic Valley Council of Elected Officials (HVCEO) and, Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Attorney Padula has been admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut for over fifteen years and is also admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. She is a member of the Town of Southbury Ethics Commission, Connecticut Business & Industry Association Labor and Employment Law Council, American Bar Association, Connecticut Bar Association (Labor and Employment Law Section and Education Committee), Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) (Past Co-Chair, State Council Legislative Affairs Committee), and SHRM Western Connecticut Chapter (Past President; Legislative Affairs Director).

Attorney Padula received her legal education from the University of Connecticut, where she graduated with honors. In addition, she did postgraduate work at Pace University Graduate School of Business, earning an M.B.A., with distinction, and at Columbia University (Executive Program). She has an undergraduate degree in Economics from Lafayette College.
